Make Your Own: Sun Brewed Soapnut All-Purpose Cleaner

With only a couple short months of hot summer sunshine left this year, we invite you to try this awesome, easy way to create your All-Purpose Soapnut Liquid Cleaning Spray. Ever made “sun-tea”? This is the same idea, although this should never be consumed internally, as Soapnut will upset the stomach.
All this method takes is a few everyday materials, 5 minutes or less of your time & the magic of solar heat energy!
Materials Needed:
1 qt. Glass Mason Jar
1 cup Shecology Organic Golden Soapnuts
Water
16 oz. Spray Bottle
Fine mesh strainer or coffee filter
Funnel
A sunny spot in your yard or patio
*Note: This recipe can be reduced or multiplied, depending on the amount you want to make. We love making more at once & storing the extra in the refrigerator until needed, but sometimes you may just want to make enough to fill one spray bottle at a time. (Example: to reduce this recipe to 1 pint mason jar, use just ½ cup soapnuts.)
Step 1 : Add one cup of Shecology Organic Soapnuts to a large mason jar.
Step 2 : Fill almost to the top with water and shake well.
*Note: This can be left all day or even overnight or even for a few days, depending on the strength you want the concentrated liquid to be. The darker it is, the stronger it becomes.
Step 3 : Once you reach the desired strength & color of the liquid brew, you are ready to strain it!
*Note: There will be particles in the Sun-Brewed Soapnut liquid that need to be strained out, as to not clog the spray bottle, so be sure to use a fine strainer as you funnel the liquid into your refillable-glass, shecology Spray Bottle. Once it is strained out, you can actually toss the used Soapnuts into your compost or outside somewhere, as the fruits are not harmful to the Earth or precious waterways.
Step 4: Go ahead & use your awesome Sun-Brewed Soapnut Concentrate wherever you please! We personally use it in every area of our home, garden, & extended spaces.
Use this powerful cleaning spray to wash your fruits & veggies, clean your counter tops, wood or tile floors, door knobs, bathrooms, dishes, diaper changing table, interior or exterior of your car, yoga mat, patio furniture, office or workspace & virtually anywhere else you need to safely clean.
Also useful as an on the go hand washing spray, organic garden pesticide, flea & tick spray for your pets & their bedding, mosquito & no-seeum repellent for you & your family, & so much more!
